It will be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up for this game. There are literally dozens of people here right now watching warmups.
As I wrote about and tweeted earlier, MSU is without defensemen Josh Nelson and Carter Foguth, both of whom were injured last Saturday against Northern Michigan.
BGSU starters: Forwards--Dufour, DeSalvo, Berkle. Defensemen--Perrier, Freibergs, Goalie--Burke
MSU starters: Forwards--Grant, Gervais, Leitner. Defensemen--Stern, Palmquist. Goalie-Huggins
Foguth and Nelson are out for the weekend and likely beyond
"The Freezer on Fulton" ... nickname for the Van Andel
Nice building. Plenty of seats available.
Good back check by BG takes away a potential breakaway for LaFontaine
Gervais has had a couple of good shifts off the bat. No surprise there.
Probably here, considering North Dakota is at Target Center.
Shots are 6-3 for MSU 5 minutes into the game
Huggins makes a nice save on close shot by Cooper.
First media timeout. Still 0-0. Shots are 6-4 for MSU.
First power play goes to MSU as Blueger got hooked in front of the net.
Gervais fires wide after a nice set-up by Stepan from behind the net. Best chance on the power play.
Penalty over. Five shots on the power play if the board is correct.
Bowling Green gets a good chance in front. Huggins is there. Scramble after a Stern turnover trying to get the puck out of the zone.
MSU penalty coming. Chase Grant for tripping.
Mavs fortunate to not be down 5x3. Looked like Palmquist got away with a trip
Mavs have to hit the net. Even Jon Jutzi
They're apparently not announcing when a team returns to full strength.
Peto could scores. Jutzi has no goals this season, one for career
I can't use the word crowd to describe attendance today. A smattering of ticket holders, perhaps.
Second period is underway
